AI-CTEC was the first company to introduce autonomous depth control engines to the decades-old problem of manual buoyancy control – for purposes ranging from scuba diving, aquaculture, and marine operations.
In fact, AI-CTEC has a contract to support the Department of Energy and their recent initiative to support new technology surrounding the production of macroalgae with $22 million in research funding.
Aquaculture has become the primary focus of AI-CTEC, offering opportunities for revolutionary applications of our technology. Marine forests have the potential to reinvent the energy sector, provide endless new acres of rich farmland, ease the burden on over-exploited soil in traditional operations, and evolve chemical synthesis processes via natural methods. The Department of Energy sees a big future for innovation in aquaculture in areas of feedstock, fuels, chemicals, and dozens of other commercial products in a sustainable and vast scale.

We have already begun implementing our game-changing, oyster cage-compatible solution in the Gulf of Mexico to help improve efficiencies and lower costs by optimizing processes for feeding, desiccating, wintering, and harvesting.
Our suspended rope platform technology enables mussel farmers to take advantage of nutrient-rich waters while avoiding disrupting waves – ultimately allowing growers to move further offshore and expand their farms.
